I. Development History
The Central Laboratory of Animal Science (CLFAS), Vietnam National University of Agriculture was established by Decision No. 937 / QD-NNH dated June 9, 2010, with the orientation and important strategy of the University and Faculty is training according to social needs, promote research and transfer of science and technology into production practice.
The central Lab of FAS has modern and synchronous facilities. Equipment of the laboratory is mobilized from various disciplines and invested in the framework of the Higher Education Capacity Building Project (TRIG), the Vietnam-Belgium project and some other of International Cooperation projects.
From 2010 to 2016, Assoc. Prof. Pham Kim Dang – Lecturer of Department of Animal Physiology and behavior was a Head of Lab
From 2016 to the present, Assoc. Prof. Dang Thuy Nhung – Lecture of Department of Animal nutrition and Feed technology is a Head of Lab
II. Objectives
To continue investing in the direction of serving the development strategy and scientific research on animal science, veterinary and aquaculture. Advanced in-depth Analysing quipment will be upgraded that include mass spectrometers for use with the UPLC (LC / MS), Mass Chromatography (GC / MS), Orion II microplate luminometer, PCR, etc. for in-depth research and analysis of residues, toxins, pollutants, mold toxins and nutritional research (micronutrients, amino acids, vitamins, micro minerals).
The service slogan: "Strengthen the prestige of the quality of analysis, service quality and cost preferences", expects the researchers, students and customers will be very satisfied when coming to Central Laboratory of the Faculty.
In the next time, the Laboratory will continue to expand and develop more tests in accordance with ISO / IEC 17025: 2017 and register additional testing activities with specifying other ministries and agencies.

III. The strengths of Lab
The Central Laboratory is the basis for analyzing and testing indicators in the fields of animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, aquaculture and some other related fields such as preservation, processing, cultivation and technology, biological, etc.
The Central Laboratory is a unit of the Faculty of Animal Science performing the following duties:
+ Training: as a practice laboratory for some modules, graduate internships of students, master's thesis, doctoral theses,
+ Scientific research: carrying out research, projects, ... of staffs in the Faculty of Animal Science and the University.
+ For Servicing: evaluating, analyzing and verify the quality of raw materials and animal feed (pig, chicken, duck, dog, cat, buffalo, cow, fish, shrimp, etc.), livestock products (meat, egg, milk, ...) and sanitation of individuals, offices, animal feed factories, farms ....
On July 3, 2019, the Central Laboratory of FAS was decided by Bureau of Accreditation of Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology No. 421.2019 / QD - VPCNCL on assessing and founding to conform with the requirements of ISO / IEC. 17025: 2017, and accreditation No VILAS 1223 with 14 tests in the livestock sector.
On January 7, 2020, the Laboratory has been issued with Certificate No. 01 / GCN - CN - TCN by the Department of Livestock Production of Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on registering of testing activities with 12 tests in the field of animal feed.
On January 20,2020, the Laboratory was decided by the Department of Livestock Production of Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development No. 11 / QD - CN - TAN, on the appointment of a testing laboratory for animal feed with 12 tests in the field of animal feed
On March 31, 2021, The central laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Science has recognized 10 broadened tests in livestock, meat and seafood sectors with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, VILAS 1223 by the Bureau of Accreditation of Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology No 185.2020/QĐ-VPCNCL.
The Central Lab consists of 03 full-time staffs with master's degrees with deep expertise in the field of analysis and testing and regularly participate in short-term training courses at home and abroad to improve their professional capacity, participate in research programs, topics, projects with many practical experiences
IV. Facilities
The laboratory consists of 04 working rooms:
- 01 room50m2 for storing sample and equipment for primary treating samples
- 01 room 48m2 for sample processing and testing of basic nutrient.
- 01 room 24m2 with modern equipment for analyzing of specialized indicators.
- 01 room 24m2 is the office of the Lab for receiving samples, processing data and returning the results of analysis for customers
