1.1. History of foundation
Department of Animal Biochemistry was established in 1977, in 1984 the Department was united withDepartment of Zoology (established in 1956) and Department of Physiology (established in 1977) to form Department of Physiology-Biochemistry-Zoology. In 2007, Department of Animal Biochemistry and Physiology was separated from the Department of Physiology-Biochemistry-Zoology. In 2013, the Department of Animal Biochemistry and Physiology was separated again to rebuild the Department of Animal Biochemistry.
The development of our Department isclosely related to the history development of the former Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, the former Faculty of Animal Science and Aquaculture and Faculty of Animal Science. Its development is also the part of the foundation history of Hanoi University No.I, which is currently named as Vietnam National University of Agriculture.
We are responsible for building the subject structures andpublished several textbooks which can be used as learning materials for study General Biochemistry and Animal Biochemistry. Our department is connected with many national and regional research centres and institutes including National Institution of Animal Husbandry (Vietnam), University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (Germany). We also is an active member of Vietnam Association of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The department has an office and a staff room. We have built two rooms which are designed to cater for practical classes and researching.
